This was the base camp of the 196th LIB in 66-67 before they moved to Chu lai in April '67..when I first came in Aug. of '66 there was nothing but a couple tents and somethng like a sweet potato field ....nothing but heat and then it wasn't long before the rains set in .....

This is not Tay Ninh base camp, there was no body of water or river that was near the base.Maybe they did something to the area ater 1967 but it was barren tapioca farm when we got there.

There is a body of water near Tay Ninh Base Camp. It's name is "Rach Tay Ninh" check your google map

This is not Tay Ninh West. I was an original 196er, and do not recognize this airstrip/basecamp.
